ImageViewer offers extensive printing capabilities. These include:
ImageViewer allows you to specify the appearance of printed pages, including margins and the number of rows and columns.To Print a List of Files:
- Choose a list view from the View menu.
- Select Print List View Settings from the File menu and choose your settings.
- Select Print from the File menu.
To specify the appearance of printed pages, use the Print List View Settings dialog. As you alter the settings, the page display in the top left will update to display the current settings. List elements are drawn as rectangles with gray contents. The printable are of the page is represented by a dotted frame, while the borders(margins) are drawn as a light gray. The page size for the current printer, along with the numbers of pages required to print the entire list, are displayed below the page display. List elements are drawn, based on the definition of the current custom list view, and should appear as they are displayed on the screen.NOTE: If you are using an unregistered version of ImageViewer, you can view the Print List View Settings, but printing will not use these settings. A simple printing is still available, where all list elements will be printed without margins starting at the top left of each page.
Borders:
- Measure can be inches, centimeters, or points.
- Maximum is 3 inches.
- Specify the amount for the top, left, right and bottom borders. Values are from the edge of the paper.
- Maximize Printable Area. Click this button to automatically update the border values to show the maximum printable area, which is usually less than paper area.
Grid:
- Distribute Extra Space. If setting is on, leftover space between list elements is distributed evenly between them.
- Maximize Rows & Columns. If this setting is on, the maximum number of rows and columns are printed on each page. In this case, the Rows and Columns edit fields are disabled. If this setting is off, the Rows and Columns edit fields are enabled and used to specify how many rows and columns are printed on each page.
- Rows and Columns edit fields allow you to specify the number of rows and columns to print on each page.
- The small grid to the right of the Rows and Columns edit fields, allows you to specify the placing of the list elements in the overall printable area. Clicking on the grid will change the placing(e.g. top/left, centered etc.)
- The currently selected view is displayed along with the size of each of its elements.
Header and Footer Text:
- Specify the header and footer text in the appropriate edit fields. Text will not display or print, unless the Text setting is on(checkbox). If Date setting is on, the current date will be printed in the top left (header) or bottom left (footer) of the page. If Page number setting is on, the page number will be printed in the top right (header) or bottom right (footer) of the page.
Print Background:
- If this setting is on, the background color or pattern is printed, which can add a significant amount of time to printing.
You can print an image file from within ImageViewer.To Print an Image File:
- Select a single image view from the View menu.
- Select Print from the File menu.
NOTE: As of version 5.3, printing images uses default options only. The entire image is printed, using as many pages as necessary. A future version of ImageViewer will allow greater control of print settings for images.
